Getting Started with Creator Chronicles
A first-hour loop from burned houses to Hidden Swamp before the 14 September 2026 launch.
Creator Chronicles opens with a developer pulled into their own game and hands you a burned village, thin gold, and no guild. This is the first-hour walkthrough for the Steam demo and the 14 September 2026 full build. The campaign is single-player. The demo closes on 13 September 2026, and demo saves do not carry over, so treat a demo run as practice.
Before New Game, read Character Creation. Difficulty locks on that screen: Beginner (monsters at 60 percent stats, no reset, no permanent leave), Adventurer (full stats, still no reset or leave), or Conqueror (death resets a member to level 1, mood can cause a permanent leave, speedrun board on). Pick Conqueror only if you will bench people. Your master walks into Hidden Swamp, so a squishy portrait is a wipe risk. Keep Controls in mind: Space pauses, 1/F1–3/F3 set speed, B builds, F opens dungeons, G opens the guild, H opens herbs.
Hour one on the map
The top-left HUD shows member count, village level, visitors, gold, and time. Pause whenever gold is about to move. Pan with WASD or by dragging, zoom with the wheel, left-click to select, right-click to cancel. Right-click a production building for one manual craft when you need a single loaf or potion.
Demolish burned houses first. Each demolition pays a 100 gold chronicle reward and frees a plot. Do not restore every ruin. Place one house per member you will invite; housing is a hard cap. After the first house, buy a bread loaf at the auction so a worker can eat. The auction is an in-fiction market of other “players” inside the game-within-a-game, not live multiplayer.
Drop a farm and fields next. Fields grow herbs for potions. Invite an herbalist before a fourth damage dealer. Spend gold on food, housing, herbs, then a tank and healer who can survive Hidden Swamp. Every extra building costs more than the last, so a decorative second house is a trap.
Lock materials on the auction so visitors cannot buy the herbs you need. Roads double walk speed and beat a misplaced mine. Save north land for later; the north mine wants about 10,000 gold of land plus food for miners.
First recruits and Hidden Swamp
Hidden Swamp is a level 1–4 dungeon for three members. Aim for herbalist plus healer, a tank, and a damage dealer. Named early contacts include Lettuce (healer, herbalism), Seran (healer, alchemy), Mona (tank, mining), Kanji (DPS, cooking), Joram (DPS, fishing), and Confidence (tank, blacksmithing). The recruit walkthrough covers housing and jobs. Mood details live on mood.
When three people exist, press F and send Hidden Swamp. Parties can run while you keep building. If they wipe, open the battle log. Combat explains wipes, Warrior Rage, Hunter Rapid Fire, and Conqueror deaths. The first clear grants a village trait point; spend it after Dungeons, not in a panic.
After the swamp, add an alchemy lab, then a windmill when food demand rises. Only then buy north land and open the mine. Miners need bread. Ore runs copper, tin, silver, then gold; the blacksmith waits on that chain. The tavern, Hall of Battle, ranking seasons, Party Strategy, improved character creation, and five save slots arrive on 14 September 2026.
World events fire from mood, level-ups, and village growth. Pause and read them. A rich village still fails if Hidden Swamp never gets a healer.
What to practice before 14 September
The demo is a short slice: about 120 unique members, four normal dungeons, and roughly two hours to level 20 if you push combat. Learn the demolish-house-bread-farm-invite-lock-swamp loop; do not hoard a roster you cannot import. Hardware sits on system requirements. Dates sit on launch notes. Sketch buildings with the village planner and a first party with the party planner.
Remember five actions: demolish for 100 gold, house before invites, buy bread, lock herbs, and clear Hidden Swamp with three people. Everything after that is village growth.
Pause, check HUD gold and member count, and only unpause when the next building is one you can staff. That habit matters more on Conqueror than any race bonus, and it is what the demo is teaching before Origin Studio ships 1.0.
