Creator Chronicles Gold, auction, and side jobs

How the in-fiction market funds Hidden Swamp without emptying your potion chest.

Gold and Auction

Gold in Creator Chronicles is a village problem, not a raid-loot problem. You demolish ruins, sell surplus, rent idle members, and buy the one loaf that lets a miner work. This page is the money loop: the auction, the lock toggle, part-time jobs, and the production sliders that stop you from flooding the market with herbs you still need. Pair it with the village buildings guide for plots and the getting started walkthrough for the first hour.

The campaign is single-player. The auction looks like other players listing bread and ore because the story is a game inside a game. Those listings are not a live Steam market. You cannot undercut a friend. You can still go broke if you leave every clover unlocked.

The HUD numbers that actually matter

Top-left: member count, village level, visitors, gold, time. Pause with Space before gold moves. Visitors on the HUD are a story meter. They buy whatever you forgot to lock. If Hidden Swamp still needs lesser health elixir, a visitor spike is not a payday.

Every extra building costs more gold than the last one. A fourth house before a farm is how people stall with a pretty street. A mine before bread is how people stall with a pretty hole. The village planner is the plot order; this page is why the gold number refuses to climb.

Demolish burned houses first. Each demolition pays a 100 gold chronicle reward and clears a tile. That is the only free money in the opening. Do not skip it to place a decorative windmill.

Auction: buy, sell, lock

Open Income, then the auction tab. Early on you buy a bread loaf so the next worker can eat. Later you buy missing unlock materials if your farm is behind. The quantity buttons (1 / 5 / 25 / 100) sit on the buy column. Buy one loaf. Do not buy a hundred because the button is green.

Everything you own defaults to listed. Other in-fiction buyers can take it. Click the lock so the stack stays in your chest. Lock the items that unlock the next building or potion:

  • Herbs such as kudzu, calming flower, mugwort, and magic grass for the alchemy lab.
  • Root oil for the windmill.
  • Lesser health elixir, bread, and fish pie for the north mine.
  • Dungeon ribs if you still need roasted ribs.
  • Copper, tin, silver, then gold as the ore chain opens.

Target production sliders sit on herb and potion screens. Set a cap (10, 20, 25) so crafters stop when the chest is full. Unlocking a recipe still wants a material sitting in inventory, not a memory of having sold it at 3x speed.

Part-time work and charts

The Income panel also has a part-time tab. You can rent a guild member onto a short party request or sell a fixed material for a lump of gold. If Lettuce is already in the village, some of those requests complete immediately. Use this when the next house is 15,000 gold and the farm is idle, not when Hidden Swamp is missing a healer.

The charts tab plots gold from each profession over time. If Alchemy is a flat line, you do not have a lab, an alchemist, or locked herbs. If Mining is a flat line, you never bought north land. Read the chart after a swamp clear, not instead of sending a party.

Spend order that does not brick the morning

  1. Demolish for the 100 gold reward.
  2. One house per planned invite.
  3. One bread loaf.
  4. Farm plus fields.
  5. Lock herbs, then invite an herbalist and a healer.
  6. Alchemy lab, then lock potions.
  7. Roads (cheap, 2x walk speed).
  8. North land (~10,000 gold in tester notes) and the mine, only after food exists.

Side jobs fill gaps. They do not replace a first-clear village trait point. If you are still staring at the auction while a three-person party could be in Hidden Swamp, close Income and press F. Combat gold and gear from the dungeons page beat another loaf of bread you will sell back to yourself.

After 14 September 2026 the full client adds ranking seasons and Hall of Battle as asynchronous PvP. Those modes have their own gold sinks. They do not change the opening rule: lock what unlocks the next bench, sell only surplus, and never let a visitor buy your last elixir. Confirm dates on the launch notes. Sketch the spend with the village planner if the HUD gold number is lying to you.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers for new guild masters.

Why did the auction sell my herbs?

Stacks list by default. Lock them. The village guide covers the same toggle for building unlocks.

Should I buy everything on the auction?

Buy a bread loaf and missing unlock mats. Do not empty gold on volume buttons. First-hour order is on getting started.

What are part-time jobs?

Short rentals of a member or fixed material sales under Income. Use them after a healer exists for Hidden Swamp; see recruit.

Is the auction real multiplayer trading?

No. It is an in-fiction market. The campaign is single-player. Combat still runs from the combat guide.

When do I buy north land?

After food and the alchemy loop. The village planner lists the gold order.
